NFDL Gas Leak Update – Residents Able to Return Home

A gas leak forced residents in a portion of North Fond du Lac to evacuate this evening. The leak was reported on Cardinal Court in the village, which is located inside the Gaslight Terrace Mobile Home Park. Reports say a vehicle hit a home on Cardinal Court around 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, which caused the leak. The evacuations were ordered within a half-mile radius of the leak, and Alliant Energy reported just under 300 customers without power as crews worked to fix the problem. People were able to return to their homes just after six this (Tuesday) evening. Details on what caused the car to hit the home are still unclear at this point.
