NFDL Man Makes Initial Court Appearance On Arson Charges

The North Fond du Lac man accused of more than two dozen crimes, including being responsible for a recent string of fires set in the area, made his initial court appearance Tuesday. Michael L. Miller, 43, appeared in court via video conferencing at the FDL County Courthouse.

Miller was arrested following recent arson activity and now is charged with 11 counts of arson to a building along with 16 other counts. Miller confessed to setting the fires, including fires set on March 19 and March 20. Miller said he used items stolen from a nearby Laundromat to ignite the fires. Investigators said Miller had ties to at least two of the damaged homes. In addition to the arson charges, Miller has been charged with five felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.  Miller admitted to setting at least a dozen fires between December 2018 and April 2020.

He is scheduled to appear in court May 7th for a preliminary hearing.
