NFDL Veteran’s Memorial Committee Turns Down Offer Of Assistance On Principle

North Fond du Lac Village Administrator says an effort by the village to help out the Veteran’s Memorial was turned down this week. Chuck Hornung says some disabled veterans and others have had problems negotiating the gravel pathway out to the memorial. He says the village board discussed the possibility of funding the paving of the path. However Village Trustee and Veteran’s Memorial Chairman Keith King turned down the offer for a good reason. He says they began the project on the premise that tax monies wouldn’t pay for it. He says the memorial’s committee is hoping to raise the funds and cement the pathway yet this fall.
