North Main Street Redevelopment/Development Plan Ready For Public Viewing

MSA, the company working with the City of Fond du Lac in revitalizing and creating new development plans for areas of the city have created a draft plan for the north Main Street corridor and the city is seeking the public’s input on the plan.

The plan will be on display at Fire Station #1, located at 815 south Main Street on April 13 from 5:30-7:00 PM.

MSA will present the overall vision, goals, and policies to support and guide new development and future public improvements in the corridor over the next 10-20 years.

MSA says throughout this entire process, they’ve used resident feedback to create the plan.

The North Main Street corridor had been identified in the 2040 Comp Plan as an important corridor for the City to support reinvestment.

Some key factors that were identified through the 2022/2023 planning process include locational importance of the corridor as it sits between downtown and Lakeside Park.
Current lack of identity and character. The need for reinvestment, especially to building facades, and transformative opportunity with the former Saputo site in the northeast corner of Scott/Main.

The North Main Street Corridor is considered the area from Johnson Street to Scott Street. The plan will provide a 20-year vision for the corridor, outlining actions and potential development and redevelopment opportunities to thee area.
