PHOTOS / VIDEO: Northern Lights bedazzle the sky over Fond du Lac County

November 11, 2025 aurora display over Fond du Lac County. This was a burst of energy from the sun that interacted with the Earth’s atmosphere from 10 p.m. to about 10:20 p.m.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Aurora photography involves a tripod and leaving the shutter open for several seconds, allowing more light into each photo. This makes the lights in the photo brighter than it is to the naked eye. Saturation is then “punched” in post processing to enhance colors. The colors are really there, but the photos exaggerate them a bit.
