Oakfield Falls in Title Game

Oakfield lost to the top seeded Cardinals from Pacelli this morning, 9-6. Lamonska struggled for the Oaks giving up 8 runs and was pulled in the third inning. Schepp pitched well in relief holding Pacelli to 8 runs until the sixth.

The offense took awhile to get going for Oakfield as their first run came in the third off an error. The bats came alive in the 5th and 6th where the Oaks brought 2 runs across the plate in each inning.

The top of the 7th was full of dramatics. After one out Lamonska singled. S. Hofman doubled to right center. Kottke struck out looking. Sabel singled with S. Hofman advancing to third, and Lamonska scoring. Tapp walked. Then, with the bases loaded, Vielbig would strike out looking.

Oakfield finishes the season at 25-4. Pacelli wins their 4th ever softball title.
