Alex Lichtenwald

Alex “Woody”
Henry Lichtenwald, 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10th,
2018 at Hospice Home of Hope surrounded by his family. He was born on July 2,
1945 in Fond du Lac, a son of Philip and Elizabeth (Eichler) Lichtenwald. Alex
married the love of his life, Elaine Brester, on October 26, 1968 at Immanuel
Trinity Lutheran Church.


Alex was a
machinist at Mercury Marine for 39 years until his retirement. He loved fishing,
camping, and model trains. Alex had a wicked sense of humor and used it as a
way to get through the ups and downs of life.


Alex is
survived by his wife of 49 years, Elaine; two sisters-in-law, Gloria (Daniel)
Groeschel and Bonnie (Robert) Hilt; special nieces and nephews, Nancy, Cherie,
Patty, Ann, Diane, Christine, Michael, Melissa, Darrell and other nieces and
nephews; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Lichtenwald and Betty Lichtenwald and his
special dog, Dunkin.


Alex was
preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings and his parents-in-law.


Visitation/Service:
Alex’s family welcomes relatives and friends for a time of visitation to
Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E Division Street, Fond du Lac, on Sunday, January 14,
2018 from Noon to 1:45 PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00
PM. Private entombment will take place at Ledgeview Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.
