Andrea “Andi” Jean Zinniel-Hando

Andrea “Andi” Jean Zinniel-Hando, 59 years old, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 17th, 2024. She was born on December 13th, 1964, in Milwaukee and was adopted by Leo and Lois (Stettbacher) Zinniel, as she would have described as the most wonderful parents in the world. Andrea went to Goodrich High School and graduated in 1983. Andrea decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and pursue a career in nursing and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. Later in her career she received her Master’s degree in Public Health at American Public University. Andrea was a Psychiatric Nurse at Winnebago Mental Health for 28 years, caring for those suffering from mental illness. After a head injury in 2013, she was forced into retirement. While working there, she met the love of her life, Jack Hando. Andrea and Jack got married May 8th, 1993 at The Church of Peace. Andrea often said that her 3 greatest achievements were her boys, Nick, Alex and Ben; they were an instant source of pride and love. She took great delight in her boys and her wonderful marriage of 30 years. Andrea was a member of the Sing Out in Fond du Lac since 1977. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, spending time with her family and close friends, family vacations when the boys were little, and her dogs. Andrea and her dog, Ziva, trained as search and rescue with Sheboygan Falls. Andrea is survived by her loving husband, Jack Hando; their three sons: Nicholas (Vanessa) Zinniel of Boscobel, Alexander (Jenna) Hando of Appleton, Benjamin (Kendra) Hando of Ripon; grandchildren: Mia, Issac, Emma, and Killian; Acre and Everest; great grandchild: Leila; mother: Lois Zinniel of Fond du Lac; brother: Thomas (Debra) Zinniel of Lomira; birth sisters: Sandy, Kristina and Courtney; brother-in-law: Stephen Ramsey. She is proceeded in death by her father, Leo Zinniel and her in-laws, Marlys (Peroutky) and Gary Hando.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E Division St, in Fond du Lac. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM.
