Arlene Ellen Schultz

With hearts full of love, gratitude and sorrow we announce the passing of Arlene Ellen Schultz, affectionately known as Lennie, our mother, on February 8, 2026. She’s left us only to enter Heaven to lay to eternal rest, unafraid and with her open heart.

The world lost a bright light, a devoted wife of 70 years. Married to Gordon Schultz, along with 2 children, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, whom she adored!

Among these things, she was a loyal friend to all; even a neighbor or stranger passing on the street. She lit up a room with her laughter in the calm and a hug in the storm. She always “loved you more,” no arguing!

Mom had a quick whit and told jokes she didn’t even understand!

She had the ability to turn most mundane moments into cherished memories without even trying. Her hospitality started from the time you entered the door with “would you like a drink?” meaning wine or a cocktail! And, of course, always with a warm hug.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to those who cared for and supported our mom throughout her life. Especially those with her at the very moment she left this world. We’d especially like to give special thanks to Brenda Allen, mom’s caregiver; to skilled physicians and a caring staff wherever she landed.

In celebration, please join us in sharing stories as well as getting a taste of mom’s “comfort foods.” Visitation for Arlene will be held at Zacherl Funeral Home on Friday May 1, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 PM; with a memorial service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association.
