Arlene J. Johnson

Arlene J. Johnson, 87, went peacefully home to her Lord on August 15, 2013, at the Hospice Home of Hope after a very brief illlness. She was born November 11, 1925, in Fond du Lac, the fifth child of Edward C. and Ella Mietzel Ballwanz. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. On November 13, 1948, she married Vincent D. Johnson at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1986. She worked at Wright Brothers Paper Box factory for over 50 years. She was a faithful bulletin stuffer at her church for many years. She loved to bake and was known for her many varieties of cookies, was an avid bowler, loved to dance, and play cards.

          She is survived by her daughter, Carol (John) Graham of Fond du Lac, a loving grandson, Ryan (Kari) Graham of Fond du Lac, and a great-granddaughter, Miah Brooke, Fond du Lac, her God-children, Karen (Mike) Boede of Fond du Lac, Nancy (Steve) Gross of North Fond du Lac, and June (Scott) Elsner of Green Bay. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Robert) Ballwanz of Fond du Lac and Wilma (Edward) Johnson of Pueblo, CO, nieces and nephews, and special friends Mary and Nick Dickrell of Sheboygan and the William Waldschmidt family, all of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter, Brooke Graham, brothers Edward (Olga) Ballwanz, Harvey, and Robert Ballwanz, her sisters, Ruth (Arnold) Luebke and Lorraine (Lyle) Watke, and special friend Gene Floyd.

          Visitation for Arlene J. Johnson will be on Monday, August 19, 2013, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1600 S. Main Street, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 12:30 PM at the church on Monday. The Rev. Michael Zuberbier will officiate and burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
