Arnold C. Martin
Arnold C. Martin, 92, of Fond du
Lac, died peacefully Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his residence. He was born April 27, 1926 in Fond du Lac,
the son of Paul and Emma Woeshnik Martin.
On October 28, 1950, he married Edith Jorgensen in Fond du Lac and they
were married 68 years. Arnold served in
the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and on September 11, 2014 was able to
take part in the Glory Honor Flight.
Arnold worked as a mason with several construction companies and retired
from KMI Industries in 1989. He was
inducted into the Fond du Lac Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002 and had also played
hockey for the Fond du Lac Bears. He
enjoyed golfing, hunting, watching the Packers, and most of all loved his
family.
He is survived by his wife,
Edith; children, Diane (Jim) Wagner of Appleton, Brett Martin of Fond du Lac,
and Lisa (Henry) Ruehl of Van Dyne; grandchildren, Lindsay (Alex) Cabusao, T.J.
Wagner, William Hackbarth, Carl Hackbarth, Michael Hackbarth, Amy Jo (Chris)
Tedesco, Megan Ruehl, and Mason Ruehl; great grandchildren, Kai Cabusao, Keegan
Hackbarth, Rowan Hackbarth, Amira Hackbarth, Paxton Tedesco, and Marlee Bowen;
nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He
was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shari (Lawrence) Hackbarth;
father and mother-in-law, Fred and Eva Jorgensen; sister, Rose (Lyle) Haessly;
and brother, Paul (Kathy) Martin.
A visitation will be held from
12:00 – 1:00 PM on Friday, December 28, 2018 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church,
1600 South Main Street in Fond du Lac.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday at the
church. Cremation has taken place and
burial will be held in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
