Audrey M. Martin

Blessed in life, our dear Mother, Audrey M. Martin, passed peacefully away with family by her side, on May 4, 2026 at the tender age of 107, while under the compassionate care of the staff at St. Francis Terrace and SSM Hospice Services.
Mom came into this life on October 24, 1918, in Brothertown, WI to Robert & Leova (Heimerman) Boehnlein. She was united in marriage to Robert L. Martin on November 2, 1939, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Dad preceded mom in death in 1961 at the young age of 42.
Mom attended St. Mary’s Grade School and went on to Goodrich High School along with Dad. After marriage, they were members of the Badger State Jr. Barn Dance and traveled throughout the Midwest with Dad’s Orchestra, Dad being a musician and Mom one of the dancers in the dance troupe. After Dad returned from serving in WWII, they owned and operated Club Luco Supper Club on Lake Winnebago where she was known for preparing the best Steak and Lobster dinners in the area. In 1970 it then became the Copper Kettle. Throughout the years, Mom operated the Copper Kettle along with family as well as enjoying several other careers. She worked for the Division of Corrections in Taycheedah as well as being a Probation/Parole officer for the State of WI. She was a member of the AFL/CIO Council 26, WI League of Taverns and the WI Tavern Auxiliary, holding offices in all, The Daughters of Isabella, Round Table and was a lifetime member of Holy Family Parish where she was a greeter. She was also a volunteer at St. Agnes Hospital Gift Shop for many years.
In later years, Mom enjoyed many Wisconsin Badger Football games along with countless concerts and plays she attended with her dear friend, Dr. Jim McCullough. She was also a lifelong Packer ticket holder and generously treated her family to many games. Mom was also an enthusiastic advocate of exercise and particularly enjoyed Tai Chi. Along with playing cards, Dominoes, Bingo and Casino Road Trips, she possessed a true talent for art and, as many women of her time, was an accomplished seamstress, sewing our clothes, coats, dad’s shirts and ties, and even her granddaughters’ Prom dresses. Above all, she loved her family and had a special bond with each of her grandchildren.
Mom lived a long and meaningful life spanning over a century. She witnessed remarkable changes in the world and remained a source of wisdom, strength and love to all who knew her. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children: Jeanne M. Kebble, Richard W. (Deb) Martin, Mary Jo Berenz; son-in-law, John Stoecker; grandchildren, Bob (Sue) Stoecker, Stephanie (Dave) Shambeau, Melissa (Dean) Artus, Amy (Tom) Monogue, Jim (Jennifer) Kebble, Susan (Ken) Wright, Kristine (John) Buelow, Billie (Dean) Tighe, Heather (Jim) Percy, Brooke Martin, Jennifer (Pete) Miller, Todd (Tanya) Berenz, Tyler Berenz; twenty-eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by three nieces: Jeanne (Marv) Falish, Julia (Dave) Crouch and Lori (Bill) McMahon.
