Barbara H. Marx

Barbara H. Marx, 81, passed away on August 30, 2026 at her home in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She was born in Kiel, Wisconsin on December 8, 1944, the daughter of the late Mathew and Helen Werdeo of Kiel.

Barbara graduated from Kiel High School and then attended the City College of Cosmetology, Appleton and received a degree in cosmetology. She was employed at Hill’s Beauty Salon, Wells Manufacturing, Miles Kimball and Graphic Center.

On March 27, 1976 she married Clarence E. Marx in North Fond du Lac. The couple moved to Bullhead City, Arizona in 1997 and lived there until 2015 when they came back to Fond du Lac. While in AZ, Barbara was employed at the Flamingo Casino in Laughlin, Nevada in the gift shop until she retired in 2007.

She is survived by her son, Tom Bragg, Jr. of North Hollywood, CA; stepchildren Maureen Marx-Kilgore, Constance (George) Fechhelm, Roberta (Brian) Shea, Janet McCready, Charles Marx, and Michael (Amy) Marx; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; son-in-law Tom Steffen; a brother Ken (Kathy) Werdeo; sisters-in-law Joanne Werdeo, Arlene Werdeo, Darlene Werdeo, and Pat Marx; brother-in-law Ray Bodden as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence in September of 2018; brothers Elmer Werdeo, Dan Werdeo, Ronald Werdeo, and Robert Werdeo; sister Jeanette Strickland; stepdaughter Deborah Steffen; sisters-in-law Roseann Werdeo, Elaine Krug, Charlene Phillips, Joan Chittum, Mary Herriges, and Geri Bodden, as well as other relatives.

Barbara’s family invites friends and relatives to a time of visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Zacherl Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM. A Liturgy of the Word will take place following the visitation. Barbara will be laid to rest next to her husband Clarence at Ledgeview Mausoleum at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
