Barbara S. Jaeger
Barbara S. Jaeger, 79, formerly of Ashford went to her heavenly reward on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira with her loving family gathered around her. Barbara was born the daughter of Roland “Smokey” and Dorothy (nee Majerus) Comins on February 13, 1944 in Osceola Township. As a child she lived in the Townships of Osceola and Eden. She was a 1962 graduate of Campbellsport High School; she graduated from Moraine Park Technical College with a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing in 1963.
Barbara was united in marriage to Gerald P. Jaeger on July 11, 1964 at St. Martin’s Church in Ashford; when she started her career as a farm wife and partner, raising a family in the Town of Ashford. She was a faithful member of St. Martins Parish and loved to sing in the choir. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family, siblings, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed dancing. Together with her husband Gerald she enjoyed many trips and cruises.
Barbara is survived by her husband Gerald of Lomira, her children Nancy (Dan) Kohlmann of Dotyville, Bill Jaeger of Campbellsport, Connie (Mike) Loehr of Newton, Iowa, Lisa (Rodney) Wiech of Mole Lake and Wendy (Jon) of Juneau, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her siblings Faith Hermanns of St. Peter, Jane (Tom) Gitter of Green Bay, Ellen (Gary) Rauch of Wayne and Janet “Cricket” (Nick) Schneider of St. Cloud, her brothers-in-law Cyril Serwe and Kenneth Zehren , sisters-in-law Sister Carol Ann Jaeger and Claudia (Neil) Strassman, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Smokey and Dorothy, brother Richard, sister Patricia (Cyril) Serwe, in-laws Clarence “Pat” and Ottillia “Tillie” Jaeger, brother-in-law Frank (Faith) Hermanns, sister-in-law Christine (Kenneth) Zehren, grandson Mark Jaeger and nephews Carl Serwe and Randy Strassman and Randy’s son Cole
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 13th at St. Martin’s Catholic Chapel in Ashford, WI (N1271 Minnie Lane Campbellsport) from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 5:00 pm at the Chapel. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and cremation will follow the traditional service with burial at St. Martin’s Cemetery at a later date.
