Beverly S. Whealon

It is with deep sadness, yet joyful hearts, that we announce the peaceful passing of Beverly S. Whealon on February 5, 2026, at Hospice Home of Hope. Bev was 95 years young and maintained her class and humor until the end.

A devoted wife of 72 years to her beloved husband, Thomas E. Whealon, and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Bev touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth, kindness and infectious smile. Bev’s passion for family provided strength and sustenance to all.

Known for her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, Bev had a unique gift for making people feel seen and heard. She found joy in the simple things, and her favorite song, “You Are My Sunshine”, will forever echo as a reminder of the light she brought into the lives of those she loved.

Bev was born on January 25, 1931, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the daughter of Edgar and Salome (Eitneuer) Commo. She attended Franklin Grade School, Roosevelt Junior and Senior High School, graduating in 1949.

On March 30, 1953, Bev married Thomas E. Whealon at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. H.G. Riordan presiding.

Before being married, Bev worked for Wells Manufacturing in Fond du Lac.

She enjoyed gardening, conversation, and singing. Bev maintained a warm and welcoming household as she and her family moved throughout the Midwest.

“When I come to the end of my journey and I travel my last weary mile, just forget if you can, that I ever frowned and only remember the smile.”

Bev is survived by her seven children, Debra Whealon of Fond du Lac; Steven (Teresa) Whealon of Elcho; Sandra (Richard) Skalitzky of Rhinelander; Kevin (Polly) Whealon of Fond du Lac; Andrew (Christine) Whealon of Fond du Lac; Mary (Paul) Thomas of Uxbridge, Ontario; and Therese (Wayne) Arts of Gladstone, MI; fifteen grandchildren, Spencer, Stewart and Andrew Whealon; Shauna and Jacob Skalitzky; Sarah and Maxwell Whealon; Addyson, Lydia and Grace Whealon; Jack, Lillian and Ava Thomas; Everett and Isaac Arts; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by a brother-in-law, Robert Whealon; sisters-in-law, Barb Whealon and NorRita Corsmeier; and special honorary grandsons, Anh Tran and Tu Phan.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband Tom Whealon, her parents, and four brothers Donald, Robert, Clayton, and Tom Commo.

Private family services are being held.
