Bruce J. Burroughs

Bruce J. Burroughs was released back into the wild on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. In his 67 years spent in recovery, he avoided early release numerous times so he could spend more time with his family and friends.

Bruce spent his rehabilitation years here on earth loving others and loving life. He graduated class of 75. He spent 5 years in the Navy, where he would proudly say he never drove a ship into a bridge. He honored the post office with his presence for 35 years and would say he was the worst mailman ever. After retiring he stayed active bartending for the Breakroom. Bruce was a forever member and former president of the Masters Motorcycle Club. He was the salt of the earth kind of guy, adventurous partier and wild woodsy outdoorsman who loved spending time at deer camp.

Released before him into the wild, his parents, sister Linda, brother Ricky, nephews Jason, Jamie, Russell, and niece Annie.

Those Bruce leaves behind to finish their years in the wildlife facility are his extraordinary wife, Deeann Burroughs; his exceptional sons, John (Jean) Burroughs, Marcus (Brittney) DuFrane, Matt (Amber) DuFrane, Tyler (Karie) DuFrane and his adopted son Pauly Peters. His crazy loving grandkids, Landon, Aubrey, Cadence, Sawyer and Hayden DuFrane including Rylee, Evelyn and Audrey. His siblings Mick, Brian, Dean, Dael, Pat, Pam; in-laws Linda, Greg and Duwayne; step-siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews who also enjoyed his crazy stay here.

A party in Bruce’s honor will be held at 2:00 PM on June 29, 2024, at the American Legion Foxhole Bar, 500 Fond du Lac Ave., Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Services are in the care of Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 North Park Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Additional information and guestbook can be found at ueckerwitt.com
