Charles “Chuck” R. Fritsch

Charles “Chuck” R. Fritsch, 82, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2026. He was born on October 14, 1943 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Charles and Margaret (Bruso) Fritsch.

Chuck graduated from St. John’s High School in Little Chute before moving on to receive an Associate’s Degree from Moraine Park Technical School. Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970 and was stationed in Germany.

Chuck married the love of his life, Delores Jaeger at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fond du Lac on August 14, 1971. They recently celebrated 55 years of marriage.

He spent 20 years working as a tool and die maker for Wells Manufacturing before moving on to being a machine shop instructor at Fox Valley Technical College, retiring in 2005.

Chuck was an avid golfer and an even more accomplished golf ball retriever. He left with more than he brought. He loved bowling, camping, throwing horseshoes and never missed a Packer game. He enjoyed woodworking, painting Nativity sets, and working with his hands even creating a backyard ice skating rink.

Every summer, the family “was on the road again” and traveled to National Parks, landmarks, and Little House on the Prairie sites, with the camper in tow and a set of repair tools ready to go for unavoidable breakdowns. As the kids got older, Chuck and Delores traveled by bus to new adventures.

Chuck never minded a simple afternoon outside, mowing the lawn and watching the birds and cows. He had a love for old country music, especially Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash. Evenings were often enjoyed playing cribbage with Delores or Sheepshead with friends. Chuck enjoyed a cruise around town in his Mustang convertible to catch live music at the Thelma or a local winery.

“Grandpa” was Chuck’s favorite title. He loved to watch the grandkids, whether they were playing sports or just needed a sitter. He rarely missed a school event for them.

Chuck enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul and never turned down an opportunity to help others. He cared for his older relative Margaret for many years.

Chuck maintained his smile and sense of humor until the very end. He kept the family laughing with his one liners and signature sass. His family is grateful for the time they were able to spend with him in his final days.

Chuck will be dearly missed by his wife Delores; children Jacqueline (Dave) Biallas, David (Lisa McNally), and Lisa (Steve) Roanhouse; grandchildren Jake and Megan Biallas, Andrew, Lucas, Allison, and Matthew Roanhouse, and Landon Fritsch; sisters Carolyn Lemke, Bernadette (Bill) Schultz, Colleen (Steve) Zak, and Clarice (Neil) VanderHeiden; brother Dennis (Laura) Fritsch; brothers-in-law John (Mary) Jaeger and Bryan Vincent; sisters-in-law Linda Oelke and Deb Jaeger; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Margaret, sister Charlotte Vogel, brother Norb Fritsch, nephew Doug Fritsch, brothers-in-law Bob Jaeger and Marv Lemke, and sister-in-law Bev Vincent.

Chuck’s family invites friends and relatives to a time of visitation on Friday, August 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place following the visitation at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Vincent de Paul and SSM Health at Home Hospice.
