Cheryl A. Ward

Cheryl A. Ward, 79, of Fond du Lac, died on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Crossroads in Fond du Lac.

She was born on July 7, 1944, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Lawrence C. and Josephine D. (Soll) Moss. She attended St. Joseph Church & School, and was a graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School, Class of 1964. On October 15, 1966, she married John “Jack” Ward at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Cheryl worked at the Stretch Restaurant for over 30 years as a cashier and night-shift waitress. She was a bartender in Fond du Lac and in Oshkosh areas, working at Past Time, The Distillery and Ember’s. Cheryl became good friends with Keith and Rabbit, whom she worked for, and had a family relationship. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and Fond du Lac Eagles Auxiliary #270. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, being a part of the “inn crowd,” and most of all spending time with her family.
Cheryl loved going to Wisconsin Dells.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John “Jack” Ward of Fond du Lac; her children: Lawrence “Larry” (Michelle) Ward and Kari Lynn Tucker both of Fond du Lac; her grandchildren: Lance Ward, Marissa (special friend Deric) Ward, Christopher Ward, Shane (fiancé Katrina) Tucker and Seth (Jazmine) Tucker; step grandchildren: Carrie Baxter and Jeff Tucker; eight great-grandchildren: Ethan, Trenton, Lacey, Renee, Sophia, Jonathan, Levi and Olivia; her brother-in-law Jerome (Barbara) Ward of Fond du Lac, Best friend Beth Peters, many nieces and nephews. She was Godmother to seven children. She was a second mom and grandmother to many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, five sisters, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
VISITATION: The family will greet friends and relatives from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.
SERVICE: Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, with Deacon Dale Paczkowski officiating. Entombment will be at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Relay For Life or the Alzheimer’s Association.
