Daniel D. Gurath

Daniel D. Gurath, 87, of Fond du Lac, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at his residence. He was born on March 21, 1939, in Fond du Lac, the son of Leo and Gertrude (Chappy) Gurath. On July 3, 1970, he married Shirley Hackbart in Hudson, WI. Daniel proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed at Giddings and Lewis until his retirement.

Survivors include his four daughters, Laura (Michael) Detert, Alison (Gary) Gneiser, Kathy (Don Zabolski) Wolf, and Jean (Steven Weinglass) Mackie; one grandson, Colin Reinehr; two granddaughters, Ryann Woodfill, and Morgan (Nate) Sorrill; two brothers, Fr. Guy Gurath and Mike (Maryann) Gurath; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; and seven siblings.

The visitation will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:30 PM. Cremation has taken place.
