Daniel J. Hilton

“Lieutenant Dan” Daniel J. Hilton, age 63 of Chilton died on Monday, July 1, 2019 at his home in Chilton.  He was born July 21, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Concetta (Benevento) Hilton and Paul George.  



Dan married Eleanor S. “Ellie” Deming on June 24, 1989 in Chilton, Wisconsin.  



Dan was proud of where he lived and was very dedicated to his community.  He served on the Chilton Fire Department for 27 years where he also volunteered as the arson investigator for much of his time on the department.  He also offered 20 years to the citizens of Chilton as the 4th Ward Alderman.  He currently was working for O’Reilly Auto Parts in Chilton and was known to be well versed in all makes and models of vehicles and the elements necessary to keep them running in peak performance.  



Dan was an avid fan of Notre Dame and was also a fan of Chicago sports teams, most notably the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks and wasn’t afraid to to mention his fandom to his many Wisconsin friends.   He was a member of Faith Alliance Church and worked as CEO of Recliner Testing, Inc.  Dan was a prolific artist who enjoyed drawing and found many ways to brighten someone’s day with his sketches.  



Dan will fondly be remembered as a loving husband, an amazing father and father-in-law who loved his family and cherished each moment he could spend with those he loved and especially looked forward to his annual Father’s Day Golf Outing event with his children.  Although soft spoken, Dan kept is witty sense of humor right up to the end.  



Survivors include his wife: Ellie; his children: Stacy L. (John) Baaske, Jennifer Hilton, James (Sarah) Riedinger, Chris (Caroline) Hilton, Jason Hilton; 4 grandchildren: Natalie Schabach, Clark Hutcherson, Evan & Jenna Riedinger; and his siblings: Divi Zuriel, Greg Hilton, Lorraine Hilton, & Bill Hilton.  He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  



He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son: Jeremy Pate-Hilton.  



Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 2:30 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2019.
