Darrell P. Lemke

Darrell P. Lemke, 75, passed away at Hospice Home of Hope on May 26, 2026. He was born November 5, 1950 to the late Stanley and Laura (Ritchie) Lemke. Darrell graduated from LP Goodrich High School.

Darrell married Connie Mae Stoegbauer on December 18, 1971 at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Darrell was employed at Mercury Marine for 47 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

One of Darrell’s earliest interests was driving muscle and classic cars and drag racing with his buddies John, Bill, Wayne and Jim. All remained friends through life’s twists and turns and made sure to visit Darrell one last time before he passed. Darrell also enjoyed camping for many years.

Darrell had many canine friends through his life. His current friend being the “Famous Bandit.”

Darrell was a one-of-a-kind person and an incredible neighbor who always had a smile and a big heart to share.

Darrell’s passion was his 3.5-acre yard. He meticulously tended to it every day. He created a beautiful landscape with evergreens, flowers, and decorations that attracted wildlife. Darrell would ride around the property in his golf cart, watering flowers and admiring the beauty.

Darrell believed that one should travel while young, because you never know what the future holds. He took many cruises with Connie all around the world. Darrell was a one-of-a-kind person and an incredible neighbor who always had a smile and a big heart to share.

Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Connie; son Chris (Paula) Lemke; sisters Sharon Hodorff and Sandra (Gary) Meisenberg; brother Stephen (Kathryn) Lemke; sisters-in-law Diane Lemke, Mona Lemke and Kathy Templin; brother-in-law Duane Stoegbauer; Aunt Lorraine Perkovich and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by sisters Gloria Marschall, Linda Kutchek and Robert “Bobbie” Lemke; brothers Duane and Timothy; brothers-in-law Dennis Hodorff and Herbert Marschall and uncle Thomas Perkovich.

Darrell’s family is especially grateful to Kathy Templin, who was an angel on Earth, helping take care of Darrell as well as Connie, Chris and Paula. Her help was instrumental in keeping Darrell comfortable at home for as long as possible.

Honoring Darrell’s wishes, he wanted to be cremated with no visitation.
