David Francis Flood
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of David Francis Flood, who after living the fullest of lives, left this world at the age of 95, on June 4, 2024 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Dave was born July 9, 1928. He grew up on a farm in Eden, Wisconsin, the son of Harold and Catherine (Merjay) Flood. He was a 1946 graduate of Campbellsport High School. Dave spent his career in chemical sales and management, receiving many honors and awards for his hard work and dedication. Dave was associated with Chemical Ways Corporation for many years, serving as an officer, member of the Board of Directors, and part owner, until his retirement in July,1991. Dave was a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus.
Dave enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved traveling with his wife and best friend, Cynthia. During their 38 years together, they visited 48 states, Europe, and took many cruises. They spent winters in Florida and Arizona. In earlier years Dave excelled in waterskiing, racquetball and even swam 84 miles in one year. He was an original season ticket holder when Lambeau Field was built and enjoyed going to Packer games for many years. Golfing until 95, playing cards, and an occasional trip to a casino kept him busy in his retirement. All who knew Dave would agree that he cherished every moment of every day. His committed faith, sense of humor, kindness, and upbeat personality will leave a lasting imprint on us all. He will be deeply missed, never forgotten, and always loved.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia, sons: Timothy (Stacy) Flood of Coos Bay, Oregon, Daniel (Lisa Schulze) Flood, and James (Cynthia) Flood of Fond du Lac, and stepdaughter, Christine (Jerry) Stout of Summerville, South Carolina.
