David J. Dorn

David John Dorn, 71, passed away from Stage 4 cancer the evening of June 29, 2021 at the Hospice Home of Hope.

David was born on May 13, 1950 to parents Frank and Olive. Growing up in Marytown, WI, he graduated from New Holstein High in 1968 and went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

David enjoyed many hobbies in his retirement, including golfing, shooting trap at Forest and St. Peter Gun Clubs, sporting clays at Wild Wings in Campbellsport, keeping busy with the Democratic Party of Fond du Lac, and meeting his friends for breakfasts and Thursday night drinks. A proud Grandpa, he spent every moment he could playing with his Grandchildren or sending them gifts online.

David is preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald Dorn, as well as his brother Phillip and both parents. He is survived by his partner, Mary Bowe, and their daughters, Rebecca and Katherine Dorn; grandchildren, Sophia and Philo; his cat, Bowzer; as well as other siblings and many friends.

Celebration of David’s life will take place at Schmitty’s Oar House on Thursday, July 8 from 4-8 pm. Anyone who knew David or his family and would like to say their goodbyes is welcome to come.

Memorial donations can be sent to the family in lieu of flowers to be spread among the many causes Dave supported and sponsor a plaque at the Agnesian Cancer Center where he received treatment his final months of life.
