Delores J. Nelson

Delores J. Nelson, age 94, of Fond du Lac, died on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born on November 20, 1926, in Medford, WI, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Schultz) Tylke. On May 21, 1955 she married Gordon R. Nelson in Medford. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2014. Delores was born and raised in Medford where she received her teaching degree. Her and her husband ran the family farm for many years, and they moved to Fond du Lac in 2010. She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and she enjoyed gardening, yardwork, music, and most of all spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Gordon R. (Jo Ann) Nelson of Buckeye, AZ, Bonnie Nelson of Romeoville, IL, Michael (Valerie) Nelson of Rio, WI, Diane (Tom) Nielsen of Whitewater, WI, Paul (Pam) Nelson of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Thomas (Rachel), William, Amy (Zachary) Kohl, Ryan Nelson; one great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon; four brothers, Vincent Tylke, Larry Tylke, Chester Tylke, Roman Tylka; two sisters, Cecilia Hoeltge, Leona Paustenbach.

The visitation will take place from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, WI. Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM at the church. The funeral mass can be viewed via live streamed from the Holy Rosary Parish Facebook page.  Interment immediately following the mass at The Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
