Dieter Gust

Dieter Gust, 73, of Fond du Lac, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on May 14, 1950, in Stadtoldendorf, Germany, the son of Johann “Joe” and Brigitte Holz Gust. Dieter became a United States citizen on May 1, 1959. He was a graduate of Northwestern Preparatory School, Watertown, Class of 1968. On August 11, 1973, he married Patricia A. Stommel at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira.

Dieter worked at Giddings and Lewis for over 30 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, along with hunting with his son. Dieter loved to spend time with his family and go on vacations with them.

He is survived by his wife Patricia “Patty” Gust of Fond du Lac, his children: Diana Dehnel and Kevin (Jessica) Gust both of Fond du Lac; his grandchildren: Riley Dehnel and Sutton Gust, his mother Brigitte Gust of Hartselle, AL, his sister: Heidi Holder of Hartselle, AL; his sisters and brothers-in-law: Joyce Stommel of Mayville, Adeline Stommel of Mayville, Richard (Ruby) Stommel of West Bend, Barbara Gust of Cudahy, WI, and Ronald Stommel of Fond du Lac; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, his brothers: Norbert and John, brother and sisters-in-law: Donald Stommel, Robert Stommel and Elizabeth Adelmeyer.

VISITATION: The family will greet friends and family from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.

SERVICE: Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory, with Rev. Chris Deaner-Rogers officiating. Cremation has taken place.
