Dolores M. Straub

Dolores M. Straub, 86, passed
away peacefully at her home in Green Bay, Wis., on Wednesday, September 16,
2015. She was born in Fond du Lac, Wis. on November 1, 1928, the daughter of
Charles and Margaret (Green) Norton. On May 10, 1947, she married Leo Straub in
Fond du Lac. Dolores graduated from Goodrich High School, class of ’46. She
then attended Moraine Park Technical College (MPTC) graduating with an
Associate’s Degree in Accounting. Dolores worked for several local businesses
as an executive secretary as well as volunteering at  St. Agnes Hospital gift shop and  Fond du Lac Senior Center.

 

Her family was the focus of her
life. She enjoyed them and was very proud of each member of her family. She
would always share stories about her family with everyone she spoke with.
Dolores taught them all that family is the most important part of one’s life.
She helped instill in her grandchildren a love of reading. Her veracity for
reading a book continued throughout her last days.

 

Dolores is survived by 3 of her
4 children; Robert (Pamela) of Algonquin, Ill., 
Kathleen Brunette of Green Bay, Richard (Melanie) of Algonquin, Ill.,
son-in-law John Hanson of Glendale Heights, Ill. 11 grandchildren, Barbara (Mike),
Jeffrey (Jennifer),  Susie,  Kim (Todd), Katie (Mark),  Deanna (Huan), Kristen (Allen), David
(Rebecca), Andrew, Kolin (Tami) and Leah; 9 great-grandchildren, Lauryn,
Rachel, Meghan, Tyler, Cody, James, Karley, Chandler, and expected Baby Hardt;
3 step-great-grandchildren, Travis, Dylan, and Jackson; and her beloved pets,
Tucker, Nipper and Snowball. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo;
parents Margaret and Charles; daughter, Karen Hanson; son-in-law, Larry
Brunette; and her husband’s parents, Leo and Agatha.

 

Visitation for Dolores will be
held Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral
Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. Funeral service will follow the
visitation at 4:00 PM with her grandson, Minister Jeffrey Straub, officiating.
Private entombment will take place Monday, September 21, 2015 at Shrine of Rest
Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.

 

Dolores had asked that in lieu
of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
