Donald E. Scheer

Donald “Don” E. Scheer, 95,
of Fond du Lac, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, October 9, 2017, at the
Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, where he had been a resident since January 2016.

 

He was born on March 29,
1922, the son of Frederick and Florence Steiner Scheer, in the Town of Ashford.  He married Jean Zoch on March 19, 1955, at
Salem United Methodist Church.

 

He was a truck driver for Immel
Construction and then later for J.F. Ahern. 
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, enjoyed snowmobiling,
playing cards and hunting.

 

He is survived by his wife,
Jean Scheer of Fond du Lac; his sons: Dave (Mary) Scheer of Florida, Dale (Joy)
Scheer of Fond du Lac, Brian (Cara) Scheer of Weyauwega, WI, Bruce (Cindy)
Scheer of North Fond du Lac; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his
sisters: Jeanette Scheer and Betty Scheer of Fond du Lac; his brother: Eugene
(Joan) Scheer of Fond du Lac; brother in law: Austin Zoch; nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by
his parents, a sister, Virginia Scheer and brother, Robert Scheer.

 

VISITATION: Family will
receive friends on Monday, October 16, 2017, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at
Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.

 

FUNERAL: A memorial service
will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral
Chapel, with Rev. Bill Beaton officiating. 

 

Cremation has taken place.
