Doreen Ann Wingers

Doreen Ann Wingers, age 72, of Chilton, died peacefully in the comfort of her home with her family by her side on Thursday, January 18, 2024.  She was born September 22, 1951, in Rantoul, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Robert & Dolores (Lau) Wittmann.  Doreen graduated Chilton High School Class of 1969. She married Alan J. Wingers on July 28, 1973, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul. They just recently celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage.

Doreen was a longtime member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton and was deeply devoted to her faith. In her free time, she enjoyed quiet moments sitting under her favorite shade tree reading a good book.  Her loving and supportive nature will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.  She was a truly loving and amazing wife, mother and grandmother, always providing support and love for her family. She always made holidays and get-togethers so very special, and those memories of her will be treasured forever. 

Survivors include her husband: Alan; her children: Todd (Wendy) Wingers, Sheila Wingers and her fiancé Mark Doering; 2 grandchildren: Alison & Alesha Wingers; and her sister: Luann (Bill) Brandes.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Dolores Wittmann; a sister: Kay Riemer; and a nephew: Scott Riemer.

Funeral service will be at 5:00 pm on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at St. Martin Lutheran Church (717 Memorial Dr.) in Chilton with Rev. Thomas Schmitt officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.  A time of visitation will be held at the church from 3:00 pm until 4:45 on Thursday, January 25, 2024.  At the time of the service and following, there will be a link available above for those wishing to watch a live stream or archived recording of the service, watch a memorial video or see pictures of the flowers and gifts given to the family.
