Doris Hendrickson

Doris Mae Hendrickson, 90, passed away on April 29, 2021 at Woodlands Senior Park. She was born on July 11, 1930, two minutes after her identical twin Lois. She grew up in La Crosse Wi with her parents Fred and Florence (Boehm) Fries until the untimely death of her mother at age 39. This event had a great influence on her life as she was raised by her loving father and lived with her sisters Mary and Lois. After graduating from high school, she worked for several years as a medical stenographer and went on to marry Douglas Lee Hendrickson on October 7, 1950. Together they raised five children.

Doris lived a simple life and hated waste. She loved gardening, bird watching and listening to music. She was an accomplished pianist and accompanied many students as well as her children.

Doris is survived by her children, Karri Rees of Appleton, Ann (Bill Otto) Hendrickson of Prescott AZ, Sam (Sue) Hendrickson of Mt. Calvary, and Laurie (Mike) Meighan of Lancaster. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Randy, Rachel, Paul, Danielle, Kelly, Logan, Jenny and Erin; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Evelyn, Elliot, Eden, Harper, Porter, Lauren and Lincoln.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Doug; her parents; daughter, Emily; and sister, Mary.

Services- Doris’ family will greet friends and relatives for a time of visitation from 4:00 pm to 5:45 pm on Tuesday May 4, 2021, at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St. in Fond du Lac. A Memorial Service will follow visitation at 6:00 pm. Cremation has taken place. Burial is in Turtle Lake, WI.
