Dorothy M. Bowe
Dorothy M. Bowe, age 91, of Chilton, died on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Sycamore Assisted Living in Kiel. She was born December 14, 1931 in the Town of Rantoul, daughter of the late Gilbert & Edna (Paul) Hephner.
Dorothy proudly graduated from Chilton High School and later married the love of her life, Donald Bowe in June of 1948 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Chilton. Together, they farmed in the Town of Rantoul, all the while raising a few little rascals. During this time, they also worked hand in hand as antique dealers until Donald’s death in 1977. It was at this time that Dorothy took on her well known role of selling fresh seafood all around the Upper Midwest until about 5 years ago when she quietly slipped into retirement.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert and the VFW Auxiliary in Chilton.
Those that knew Dorothy knew that she was an independent woman who looked at everything as an opportunity to have fun. She especially enjoyed time spent outdoors fishing and hunting anything and everything including moose, elk, deer and bear.
She is survived by her children: Bucky (Pat) Bowe, Sandy (David) Kramarczyk, Cheryl (Russ) Schmidt; a daughter-in-law: Kim Bowe; grandchildren: Deanna, Greg, Katie Jo, Christy, D.J., Terry, Shannon, Shane, Cody, B.J., Justin, Kayla, Will, Andy & Donnie; numerous great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; her sisters: Elaine Kramarczyk, Joanne (James) Grych; and her brother-in-law: Dick Petzold.
