Dorothy M. Groeschel
Dorothy M. Groeschel, former resident of Malone, passed away May 13, 2023, at Harbor Haven.
She was born July 25, 1936 in Fond du Lac, a daughter of the late Frank and Loretta (Beau) Reichling. Dorothy attended St. Mary’s School in Fond du Lac and vocational school.
On September 6, 1958 she married Kenneth E. Groeschel at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fond du Lac. He passed away on December 23, 2004.
Dorothy worked as an accountant for the family business alongside her husband. She was very devoted to her family and the church.
Survivors include her children, Kenneth F. (Kathy) Groeschel of St. Peter, WI, Susan (John) Birschbach of Taycheedah, WI, Sharon (David) Stein of Mequon, WI, Wayne (Melissa) Groeschel of Fond du Lac, Glen (Mary) Groeschel of St. Peter, WI, Neil Groeschel of Malone, WI, Joyce (Jeffrey) Raube of Fond du Lac, Judy (Brad) Schneider of Fond du Lac, and Brian Groeschel of Milwaukee;
14 grandchildren, Grant (Elizabeth) Groeschel, Miles (Caroline) Groeschel, Michael (Alisa) Birschbach, Thomas (Tessa) Birschbach, Nicole (Gavin) Briscoe, Jacqueline (Jean Emmanuel) Menore, Natalie Stein, Matthew Groeschel, Anna Groeschel, Mason Raube, Lucas Raube, Gabrielle Schneider, Madeline Schneider and Evan Groeschel; six great grandchildren, Adele Birschbach, Owen Birschbach, Dorothy Groeschel, Leland Groeschel, Callahan Groeschel, and Kingsley Schneider.
Dorothy is further survived by siblings Irene Mueller, Frank Reichling, Fr. David Reichling and Mike (Mary Kay) Reichling and brother-in-law Daniel Groeschel.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Craig Groeschel in 1984; siblings Donald Reichling, Mary Jane Reichling, Peter Reichling, Barb Reichling Goff, Father Paul Reichling; in-laws Frank and Evelyn Groeschel; sister-in-law Gloria Groeschel and brother-in-law Herbert Mueller.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Johnsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation: Visitation will be held on Friday evening, May 19, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM.
The family is grateful to Harbor Haven and Promedica Hospice staff for taking care of their Mom.
