Elaine Marion Triatik (Meyer)
Elaine Marion Triatik (Meyer)
One of the last of many stories Elaine shared this past month was what a wonderful musician her dad was. She enjoyed learning to dance while helping him on the dairy farm by dancing up and down along the stalls. She faithfully listened to her polka and country music on the radio and television and is now dancing to heavenly music. Her homecoming with the Lord was on Sunday, June 4th.
Elaine was born on July 9, 1928, to Ervin and Mabel (Hodinott) Meyer in the Town of Friendship. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church. She married Raymond Triatik on June 12, 1948 and raised three children in the house they built on the Meyer homestead.
After graduating from Goodrich High School in 1945, she attended the Fond du Lac Vocational School as an apprentice for two years at the Fond du Lac Dry Goods Store. She was a beautician there for 14 years when she rose to the position as manager. She was able to attract many other beauticians and branched out in 1990 when she bought a beauty salon in the Empire Building.
Owning a business did not keep her busy enough evidently and her love of travel and skill of organization found her employed part time by Nationwide Travel of Appleton for 22 years. She would often enlist the help of her sisters when the travelers required more than one bus. Many of her friends and family recall some interesting stories from her travels across the United States and Canada.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, son Gary, daughter-in-law Marilyn (Glaeser); sisters Lucille Jacobs and Phyllis Krumbein.
She is survived by her daughter Debra (Nyles Lundly) and son Ronald of Fond du Lac; grandchildren Chad Triatik (Jill), and Amy Hall (Joe), Michael Triatik, Ryan Triatik (Leah), Matt Triatik (Brittney).
Great grandchildren: Mitchell, Bryce and Chase, Ashley and Megan, Dallas and Parker, Rylah; her sisters: Beverly Hegner (Richard) North Fond du Lac, and Karen Hielsberg (John) Oshkosh.
The family would like to thank Dr. Milani, the nurses on the fifth floor and Hospice personnel for all their wonderful care of Elaine.
Elaine’s homecoming service will be held at Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Wisconsin-American Drive, Fond du Lac on Wednesday, June 14th at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be at the church from Noon until 2:00p.m.
