She graduated with honors from Marquette University, majoring in Foreign Languages. Liz taught high school English in Milwaukee, WI and Fort Richardson Army base in Anchorage, Alaska, where she met her husband, Bill. They were married 49 years and raised three daughters together.
During her 45 years in Fond du Lac, Liz was a member of St. Louis Church and Holy Family Parish. She loved to travel the world and escape Wisconsin winters with her husband, Bill, especially enjoying time in Honolulu, HI with her brother, Larry. An excellent cook and baker, she presided over countless delicious family dinners. Liz was an avid fan of Wisconsin teams, cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Marquette Warriors/Golden Eagles. She and Bill played bridge and golf socially with the same group of dear friends for 35 years. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She taught them card games, read her favorite children’s books to them, attended sports events and concerts, and their weddings. She carried on traditions started by her mother-making and decorating holiday cut-out cookies and serving up award winning pancakes. She treasured the holidays spent with children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters: Mary Keefe of Milwaukee, Kathryn Dreifuerst (Tom) of Oshkosh, Kelley Knutson (Eric) of the Village of Lisbon, and 5 grandchildren: Thomas Dreifuerst (Holly) of Rosendale, Ben Dreifuerst (Samantha) of Fond du Lac, and Sam Dreifuerst (Sammy) of Oshkosh; Madeline Boyd (Ashton) of Fort Wayne, IN, and Zachary Knutson (Caitlyn) of Delaware, OH and eleven great grandchildren: William, Emma, Brynn, Addison, and Aubrey Dreifuerst of Rosendale; Riggs and Malcolm Dreifuerst of Fond du Lac; Evelyn and Thomas Dreifuerst of Oshkosh; Ruby and Camille Boyd of Fort Wayne, IN, and soon to join the family, Lily Knutson of Delaware, OH.
