Florence C. Haase
Florence C. Haase,
100, of Brandon, WI, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Marvin’s Manor in
Brandon.
Florence was born
April 16, 1914 in the town of Lamartine, Fond du Lac County, WI, to Ferdinand
and Louise Priepke. She graduated from Rosendale High School. On June 19, 1935
she married George C. Haase at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.
Following their marriage the couple resided in the
married lives. Florence was a long-time member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in
Brandon where she was a member of its Ladies Aide and made a lot of quilts. She
was a sewing leader of the Spring Valley 4-H Club. She loved to garden and did wonderful
crocheting, needle work and crafts. She
liked playing cards, putting together puzzles, going fishing and other events
with her family. She was a great cook
and helped out on the farm. She enjoyed
going to the casino with her husband.
Florence is survived
by two sons: James Haase and Chuck (Sherry) Haase, all of Brandon; daughter, Joan
Root of Waupun; five grandchildren: Tina Haase of NC, Stacy (Troy) Holzman of
Waupun, Mike Haase (Angela) of Fond du Lac, Greg (Kim) Root of Waupun, and
Geoff (Sheri) Root of Waupun; eight great-grandchildren: Tom, Ryan &
Michelle Root, Lucas and Ben Root, Rachel and Kayla Holzman, and Jayden Haase;
two step-grandchildren: Victoria Krautkramer and Seth Holiday; a sister,
Mildred Simon of Rosendale; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Vollbrecht and Josie
Priepke; a brother-in-law, Donald Belling; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in
death by her husband of 71 years, George; son and daughter-in-law, George R.
and Sheila Haase; son-in-law, Charles Root; granddaughter, Linda Root; seven
brothers, two sisters, six brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law.
Funeral services for
Florence Haase will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Emanuel
Lutheran Church in Brandon with Rev. Bob Rosenberg officiating. Burial will follow at Brandon Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on the family
on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on
Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
