GENEVIEVE A (THELEN) STRATZ

GENEVIEVE A (THELEN) STRATZ passed peacefully away on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Hospice Home of Hope at the age of 88.

Born:  January 11, 1936 to Peter and Thelma (Lyneis) Thelen in the Town of Fond du Lac.   Attended St. Mary’s Springs in Fond du Lac and graduated with the class of 1953.   Was a resident of The Meadows of Fond du Lac.

Genevieve was married to Glen H Stratz on July 3, 1954 at St. Louis Church in Fond du Lac.  The couple lived in Fond du Lac.  Glen died on December 23, 1997.

Genevieve retired from Fond du Lac County in 1991 where she had been employed 23 years in the Personnel Department.  After retirement she studied income tax preparation and worked for Feucht Financial Group.  She enjoyed needlework, reading and traveling. 

Surviving are two sons:   Gregory and Jeffrey (Catherine) both of Fond du Lac.  Grandchildren:  Sarah (Joshua) Raml of Sheboygan, Brian (Amy) and Brandon (Alexandra) Stratz of Madison, AL.  Great grandchildren:  Hannah, Emma and Matthew Raml, Allison, Dean, Caroline and James Stratz.  

Also survived by a brother-in-law:  Dale Stratz of Fond du Lac. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, mother and father, sisters:  Mary (Louis) Wahoske, Catherine (Franklin) Birschbach of Fond du Lac, and a brother Donald of Thelen of Bozeman, MT:  and Sisters-in-law:  Marian (Robert) Coon, Patricia (Bob) Bednarek of Menomonee Falls, WI, Marjorie (William) Pitt.  Kathleen (Myron) Schraven, and Joanne (Dale) Stratz of Fond du Lac. 

The family would like to thank the staffs at The Meadows and Hospice Home of Hope for their kindness and excellent care of mom.  If inclined, memorials may be directed to Hospice Home of Hope.

Per Genevieve’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral.  Cremation has taken place.
