Gerald “Jerry” Edwin Reader
Gerald “Jerry” Edwin Reader, 91, went home to
be with his Savior, and to join his beloved Muggsy and their son, Jeff, on
August 15, 2015. He was born on
September 6, 1923 in
Henke Reader. On November 24, 1945, Jerry
married Marguerite “Muggsy” Wacholtz at
in
In 1942, he graduated from
Jerry was a veteran of World War II, serving
in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945.
He was a prisoner of war in
at Chicago Northwestern Transportation Company as an engineer for 38 years
until retiring on October 2, 1984. He
was a member of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers – Division 185, the VFW
post 1904, Northeastern Wisconsin Ex-P.O.W.’s Chapter and St. Peter’s
Jerry is survived by one son, Kenneth Reader
of
Reader of
six grandchildren, Heather (Kelly) Reader-Schubert, Scott Reader, Dan Reader,
Jared Reader, Brandon Reader and Nicole Reader, two great grandchildren,
Katelyn and Elizabeth Schubert. He is
further survived by a special niece, Sandy Wroblewski, two sisters and many
nieces, nephews and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his son,
Jeffery Reader, his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation: Jerry’s family will welcome
relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at St. Peter’s
in
from 9:00 to 10:45 AM.
Service: A funeral service with full military
honors will follow visitation at St. Peter’s
at 11:00 AM with Pastor Matthew Guse officiating.
