Harry Lewis Johns III

Harry Lewis Johns, III, age 67, of Fond du Lac passed away peacefully after a long battle of Lewy Body Dementia on March 27, 2025 at Frontida Liberty House in Fond du Lac where he was a resident the last two months. He was born June 22, 1957 to the late Harry and Betty Johns in Cincinnati, Ohio. Harry graduated from Northwest High School in Cincinnati, Ohio where he was an avid athlete who held many school high school records for baseball, football, basketball and track and field. After high school, he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. He was discharged in 1979 and was a very proud military veteran. He returned back to the United States and eventually settled in Wisconsin where he started his family. After the military, Harry worked for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and later retired from Taycheedah Correctional institution. He enjoyed playing in multiple basketball, bowling, softball and golf leagues for many years where he made many long lasting friendships. He also enjoyed watching television and spending time with his friends and family as well as his beloved pups. 

Harry is survived by his wife, Shelly Johns of Fond du Lac; daughter Julie (Nathan) Huss of Elkhart Lake; son Thomas Johns of San Antonio, TX; step-son, Derek Bronkhorst of Jackson; and granddaughter Anneliese Huss of Elkhart Lake. He is also survived by 1 sister, Rene (Bob Cornett) and 1 brother, Jeff (Lisa) Johns all of Ohio. He is further survived by a niece and many nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Betty Johns, 2 brothers, Bill and Bob Johns and 1 sister, Tril Childers all of Ohio.

 Following Harry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a small celebration of his life will held with close family and friends at a later date. Thank you to all that have played a special part in Harry’s life throughout the years.
