Haskell “Dino” Gray

Haskell “Dino” Gray loved God, his family, his friends, and the Dallas Cowboys. Dino died Monday, April 7, 2025 at his home. He was born July 27, 1956, in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. After graduating, he moved to Arlington, TX, where he soon married Susan Wilson. His lifelong career was as a plant manager in various locations.

Dino loved music, particularly Joe Bonamassa. He loved riding his Harley and the relaxing time on the road, and nothing was sweeter for him than riding the Harley alongside friends or having a steak and drinks with friends after a hard workweek. Dino loved restoring his ‘56 Chevy pickup from the frame up and spent months doing it, enjoying the process and the times at car shows, which netted him the reward for a job well done.

He read a lot and had a remarkably positive attitude with gratitude being a key aspect of his life. He often pointed out how fortunate we were for what we had.

Retirement came, and he found his high school sweetheart, with whom love and happiness were rekindled. Jana and her family added another chapter to his life, and with his own family grown, he moved to Wisconsin. Dino loved it!

Life was just settling into a routine when COVID came along and restricted activity, but eventually things started moving again. Christmas was coming. But Dino suffered an aneurysm. He survived, and we thanked God! For a little over two years, he and Jana worked hard on his rehabilitation.

God promises rest. He promises salvation if only we ask, and He promises eternal life. Dino would want us all to be grateful for God’s promise that we can be together in eternity! For now, Dino has left us with his gratitude for our every prayer and the sacrifices we made.

Dino is survived by his sweetheart, Jana; sons, Haskell (Danielle) and Aaron (Liz); granddaughters, Emerson and Kennedy; and sister, Kathy (Victor). He is further survived by Jana’s children, Chas (Kathryn), Cory (Bridgette), and Abby; grands, Lyla, Charlie, Gavin, Madison, Addison, Maddie, and Taylor; nieces, nephews, and many other treasured family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Haskell and Peggy and brothers, Steve and Doug.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a charity of your choice in Haskell’s name.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, TX.
