After retiring, Jim and Judy traveled all over the country in their mini-motor home, wintered in Arizona for 10 years and more recently, vacationed in the winter months in their travel trailer. Jim served on the Church Council at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee, serving in various positions throughout the years. He belonged to the American Legion Post 347 in Lomira and was an Empire Thresheree member. This past summer he was inducted into the Lutheran Church Softball Hall of Fame. He loved deer hunting in the fall and sturgeon spearing before wintering in the south.
Those he leaves behind include his wife, Judy, his four children; Douglas (Regina) of Fond du Lac, Rhonda Engel of Campbellsport, Russell of Campbellsport and Karla (Mike) Erdmann of Eldorado; his grandchildren, Noah, Eli and Leah Theisen, Elicia, Owen and Evonna Engel, Dominic, Cassandra, Jacob and Julia Theisen and Erika, Anna, Lydia and Talia Erdmann.
