James Joseph “Jim” Sabo
James Joseph “Jim” Sabo, age 79, of Chilton, died on Friday January 23, 2015 at the Chilton Care Center. He was born on May 9, 1935 in Appleton, son of the late Joseph and Ella (Kuhn) Sabo. Jim was a 1953 graduate of Chilton High School, and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960 as a Company Clerk in South Korea. Jim worked for over 40 years at the same location, but for three different companies in Chilton, for The Carnation Co., Manna Pro Co., and Milk Products Co. He married Patti Ensign on August 21, 1971 at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Chilton. Jim enjoyed bowling, reading, watching public television, traveling to California and Arizona, touring Wisconsin, working in his garden, taking care of his lawn, but what he loved the most were his wife, children, and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Patti; his son Tim of Phoenix, AZ; 2 daughters, Jennifer (Brian) Sabo Spencer of San Diego, CA, Amy Sabo of Madison; a grandson, Matthew Spencer, and a granddaughter, Anna Rose Spencer of San Diego; his mother-in-law, Lennea Ensign; a sister-in-law, Linda Dickrell; his 3 cousins, Allen Kuhn, Shirley Puariea, Viola Feldmann; and a niece, Julie Dickrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ella Sabo; his father-in-law, Chester Ensign; a brother-in-law, Robert Ensign; and his nephew/godson, Kurt Dickrell. Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday January 31, 2015 at St. Martin Lutheran Church (717 Memorial Dr.) in Chilton, with the Rev. Jonathan Christensen officiating. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. A luncheon will follow services at church, with committal and military rites to be conducted at Hillside Cemetery on Saturday afternoon following the lunch.
