James William Rosenmeier

James William Rosenmeier, known as “Jim” or “Rosy,” passed away on July 10, 2024. Jim was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on October 16, 1940, the sixth wedding anniversary of his parents, Edwin J. Rosenmeier and Rosella K. (Schwister) Rosenmeier. He attended St. Peter’s Catholic grade school and graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1959.

Jim did route work for Bancroft Dairy, Gardner Bakery, and Clean Towel Service, but worked the majority of his career from 1965 – 2001 at Mercury Marine in Fond du lac. He married Shirley Krentz, who predeceased him, on September 5, 1960 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton, Wisconsin, with whom he has four children.

Jim was a hard-working, social man who enjoyed his friends and family. After retirement, he loved his winter home in Arizona and the many friends he made there. He loved to play friendly, competitive games of shuffleboard, horseshoes, bowling and, of course, golf. Though sometimes laughably frugal, Jim was very generous with his time and resources and was always willing to lend a hand when he was able.

Jim loved to travel, taking his entire family on several Mexican vacations. He loved music and the theater. He was artistic and dabbled in many things, including woodworking, painting, stained glass art and home remodeling. He would create decorative garden stones, and window art, and Christmas ornaments. He could repair almost anything. He was a lifelong Packers and Brewers fan, weathering the ups and downs of both teams.

Jim is survived by his four children, Ann (John) Albert of Sun Prairie, WI; Daniel (Patricia) Rosenmeier of Fond du Lac, WI, Jane (Lawrence) Nash of Fond du lac, WI, and John Rosenmeier (Patty) of Edgerton, WI; five grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer, Jessica, Austin and Jacob; three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Nora and Remi; his brother, Richard Rosenmeier of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and sister, Carol Braun of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private memorial will be held. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

From your four children: Dad, we watched the painful toll that aging and health issues took on your once very active body. Thank you to you and mom for giving us the precious gift of each other to journey through this life with. We love you and miss you very much. Finally, peace.
