Janet Lynn Johnson

Janet Lynn Johnson, aged 69, of Fond du Lac, WI, left us unexpectedly on November 25, 2023. Born to parents Elmer and Millie Wohler on September 12, 1954, in Fond du Lac, she was a source of unending love and joy to all who knew her.

On April 6, 1974, she wed her beloved Frank Johnson and they shared a life rich in love and companionship. Janet, a proud alumna of Rosendale High School, Class of 1972, began her illustrious career as a teller with National Exchange Bank and Trust at just 17. She rose through the ranks, dedicating 52 years, ultimately serving as the revered Programs and Events Manager.

Travel was Janet’s passion, and she explored numerous states, countries, and continents with her GYC companions. Her spiritual home was at Ridge Road Global Methodist Church.

Janet also contributed to her community thoroughly, engaging with the Rosendale-Eldorado Homewreckers, Triad/Salt, I-Team, Rosendale 4-H as a General Leader, United Church of Christ Women’s fellowship, and on the Search committee.

Family and friends always came first for Janet; she delighted in home cooking, crafts, garden tending, and surrounding herself with the serene beauty of the family pond. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be remembered for the joyful times spent with her grandchildren, cheering at sports games, embarking on memorable journeys, and sharing kitchen secrets.

Her loving essence lives on through her children: Jeffery Johnson (Beth) of Van Dyne, WI, Kimberly Zolezzi (Joe) of Oswego, IL, and Timothy Johnson (Leah) of Eldorado, WI. Her legacy is also cherished by her eight grandchildren: Mckayla, Brynn, Cambree, Anthony, Isabella, Marissa, Hayden, and Greyson, as well as her sisters Sandy Stephany (Ken) and Kathy Montsma (Ed).

Janet’s family welcomes friends for visitation at Kurki Funeral Chapel, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, WI, on Sunday, December 3rd, from 1:00 – 6:00 pm. Additional visitation will be held on Monday, December 4th from 9:00 -10:00 am, at Ridge Road Global Methodist Church, W7910 Church Road, Fond du Lac, WI, followed by a service celebrating her life.

In lieu of flowers, Janet’s family suggests donations in her memory to a charity that reflects her spirit of generosity and community service.
