Jason C. Trtan
Jason Christopher Trtan was the youngest of the Trtan clan and his siblings will forever remember him as their introspective, good-humored, handsome, and eternally kind baby brother.
He was born on June 25, 1969 to George T. Trtan and Beverly J. Trtan in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. He graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School in 1987. Jay was the ultimate Dude: patient, laid-back, hard-working, and no-nonsense. After a long day’s work at Eilertson Electrical Construction, he enjoyed having a couple beers (usually at Beernuts) and kicking back with his buddies, his second family. Most often, he could be found at home, watching TV with his crazy, three-legged rescue dog, Melody, and her food-obsessed brother, Redford. Jay was a die-hard Chicago sports fan and the 2016 Cubs’ hard-fought World Series win brought him immense joy and plenty of bragging rights. He loved spending time with family, albeit sometimes from the comfort of the next room over. In the final years of his mother’s life, he was her dedicated caregiver and our family’s stoic and unflinching pillar during that difficult time. Already he is greatly missed and it is hard to imagine the world without his gentle presence. He was a devoted son, proud father, cherished brother, much-beloved (and cool) uncle, and doting dog-dad.
Our hearts broke when Jason unexpectedly passed away on April 7, 2021. He is survived by his daughter Gabrielle (Jonathan) Paradis; three siblings, Kimberly, Vincent (Julian), John; two nieces, Carly, Madeleine; three cousins, Carolyn Nichols, Jerry Nantell, Billy Nantell; and, of course, two treasured dogs, Melody and Redford. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Beverly Trtan, and his uncle and aunt, Bill and Mary Nantell. The service and funeral will be family only.
