Jayne Marie Godleski
Jayne Marie Godleski, selfless caretaker and loved by many, passed on Monday, August 21st, 2023 in Fond du Lac, WI. She was 80 years old.
A woman of family and faith, Jayne was born to Ervin and Marie (Michels) Stephany on January 1st, 1943, in Fond du Lac. On February 1st, 1964, she married Arthur Godleski of Three Lakes, Wisconsin at St. Mary’s Church in Fond du Lac.
Jayne was a 1961 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac and a graduate of UW-Oshkosh with a teaching degree in Library Sciences. Jayne was employed as a school librarian at St. Mary’s grade school in Fond du Lac and Bessie Allen middle school in North Fond du Lac.
Jayne enjoyed reading, traveling, fitness classes at the YMCA, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Arthur, her brother Paul Stephany of North Fond du Lac, her three children Todd (Kristina) Godleski of Fishers, IN, Jill Johnson (Scott) of Henderson, NV, and Jean Rusch of Fond du Lac. Jayne is additionally survived by ten grandchildren and one great grandchild: Elle Johnson of Henderson, NV, Lauren Lattery (Tyler) of Highland Park, IL, Max Johnson of Henderson NV, Ben Rusch of Fond du Lac, Laura Godleski of Fishers, IN, Jack Rusch of Fond du Lac, Alex Rusch of Fond du Lac, Christopher Godleski of Fishers, IN, Luke Godleski of Fishers, IN, Matthew Rusch of Fond du Lac, and (great grandchild) Mila Lattery of Highland Park, IL.
Jayne was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Stephany, and grandchild John Godleski.
Visitation: The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, August 25th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the narthex of Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 4:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church in Fond du Lac. A reception will be held after Mass in the parish hall.
