Jeffrey William Gengler

Jeffrey William Gengler, age 50, of Hilbert, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Thedacare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.  He was born October 18, 1972 in Kaukauna, son of William & Donna (Relien) Gengler. Jeff married Kim Coffeen on March 23, 2002 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Kimberly.

Jeff was an individual who found joy and satisfaction by working with his hands, accomplishing any task before him.  He began his apprenticeship at Thilmany Paper in Kaukauna and when he graduated from NWTC in Green Bay he continued working there as an E&I Technician Crew Leader.  Throughout his working career, Jeff continued growing in knowledge and skill by continually attending continuing education classes.

With a penchant for the great outdoors, Jeff enjoyed moments hunting with his son and spending countless hours on the water fishing.  He always dreamt of catching a large Musky and although he never realized that dream, it certainly wasn’t because of a lack of effort.  He camped at more campgrounds than could be counted, especially if they were near a body of water.  His travels throughout the state allowed him to offer advice to fellow travelers as to where the best spots were to visit.  Through all of his life experiences, Jeff learned the art of smoking meat and enjoyed trying new recipes to share with his friends and family.

Jeff was well known as a font of knowledge who would be available to anyone who had a question and needed help.  His memory, which was second to none, came in handy when questions arose about family history.  He also had a great sense of humor who found unique ways to pull pranks on those he loved.

In service to his community, Jeff volunteered as an adult leader with the Tip-Top 4H Club in Chilton, coached wrestling at Mt. Calvary Lutheran School and helped coach wrestling in Hilbert.  Throughout his entire life, he truly loved the sport always wrestling with his brother and later with his son.  This active lifestyle was a way that Jeff was able to keep his mind and strength up.

He possessed a strong faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and it was this relationship and his time at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church that helped carry him through his 21 year battle with cancer.

Above all else, he will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father who was always concerned with where his children were and kept close tabs on them.

Survivors include his wife: Kim; his parents: Bill & Donna Gengler; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jim & Diane Coffeen; his children: Amber “Creeks” Gengler, Jacob Jeffrey Gengler; his siblings: Cami (Tracy) Hanold, Wendy (Andy) Raschka, Ryan Gengler; and his siblings-in-law: Kevin (Peggy) Coffeen, Kris (Brandon) Wilson & Kelly (Ben) Burlingham.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church (N8728 Coop Road) in Harrison with Rev. Jesse Johnston.  Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Greenville.  Visitation will take place at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W.
