Jerome E. “Jerry” Gellings

Jerome E. “Jerry” Gellings, 87, rested from his labors on September 4, 2023. He was born on May 25,
1936, to Arthur Sr. and Stella (Hilt) Gellings in Calvary, WI. Jerry spent his life in agriculture working
for Gellings Implement until 1965 before joining Luxerin Farms for 30 years and later Abel Farms.
While attending a dance with friends in Oshkosh, Jerry met his future wife, Betty L. Weisjohn. They
were married on April 18, 1959, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fond du Lac.
Jerry was proud of his service in the Wisconsin National Guard and was part of the call up during the
Berlin Crisis in 1962. He loved fishing with Betty and playing cards with family and friends. For many
years he helped his kids raise and sell pumpkins from their home and in recent years maintained a
productive garden. Jerry was a real DIY handyman and could fix almost everything on a farm.
Jerry is survived by three children: Steve (Lisa), Monroe, WI, Donna, Eden, WI, and Brian (Sandra),
Mineral, VA; six grandchildren: Timothy (Ashley), Patrick, and Erin Gellings, Jacob Wood (fiancé
Jessica), Jonathon (Brittany) and Lindy Gellings; six great-grandchildren: Cameron, Isaiah, Evelynn,
Owen, Raelynn, and Greyson; and sisters Darlene (Neil) Delorme and Mary (Orville) Nimmer as well as
other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Arthur Gellings Jr. and
sister-in-law Genevieve Gellings, and parents-in-law Arthur and Emaline Weisjohn.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 at Holy Family
Church, 271 4th St Way, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation
at the church at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow the service at Chapel of the Risen Christ
Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
