Jerome F. Schwind
Jerome F. Schwind, age 83, formerly of N4956 Hwy G, St. Cloud, WI (Armstrong) passed away Sunday, August 19th at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center, Elkhart Lake, WI.
Jerome was born February 9, 1935 in Plymouth, WI, the son of the late John Sr. and Margaret Scott Schwind.
He attended the rural Glenbeulah schools. On May 3, 1957, he married Virginia Lex at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mt. Calvary, WI.
Jerome worked briefly for Kohler Company and retired after 30+ years from Gehl Company in West Bend.
During many of those years he also drove the local route truck for Baker Cheese.
He was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Parish, the Crooked Trails Snowmobile Club and the Empire Threshing Association.
He was an avid Case tractor collector, the local stone mason and was always willing to share the bounty from his garden with friends and neighbors, especially his potato harvest.
Jerome was always there to help anyone in need or anyone who needed something fixed at his shop!
Survivors include his daughter, Phyllis (Jay) Miller of Eden; son, Dennis (Ann) Schwind of Fond du Lac; six grandchildren, Nicole (Kevin) Lowe of Kendallville, IN, Chris (Deanna) Miller of Fond du Lac, Ashley (Dave) Kannenberg of Princeton, IL, Nathan Schwind of St. Cloud, WI, Adam (Becca) Parks of Green Bay, WI and Ben Parks;
three great grandchildren, Gretchen, Beckitt and Cooper Lowe of Kendallville, IN; two sisters Mary Lou Burbach (Dick) of Glenbeulah, WI, and Janet (Cletus) Sippel of Mt. Calvary, WI; a brother James “Jimmy” of Fond du Lac; sister-in-laws Kathleen (Bob) Simon, Marjorie (Mike) Kief and Barb Schwind; and brother-in-law Terry Atkinson.
He is further survived by many loving friends and close relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, his parents John Sr. and Margaret Schwind, daughter Donna Schaffer, grandchild Cali Shaffer, twin brother John Schwind Jr.; sister-in-law Jackie Atkinson and a brother-in-law Dick (Mary Lou) Burbach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 PM Sunday, August 26th at the Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County B, Eden, WI.
Burial will be 10 AM Monday, August 27th in the Our Lady of Angels Catholic Cemetery in Armstrong.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 PM Sunday at the Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church prior to the mass.
