Jerome William Schreiner

Jerome William Schreiner, 25, of Greenbush, Wisconsin passed away on August 3, 2023 while attempting to rescue a drowning coworker in Lake Wisconsin on the Wisconsin River. He was born June 2, 1998 to Karen Marie (Palof) Schreiner, who survives her son, and William Harold Schreiner, who preceded him in death. Jerome had an endless capacity to love and felt profound joy in serving others. With a laid-back style, confidence, and charisma, Jerome touched the lives of so many through hard work, service, adventure, and good times. Jerome saw the dignity in everyone he encountered and had a gift for making you feel heard and valued. Eager to share his passions and interests, he encouraged many to spend more time being active outdoors through biking, snowboarding, fishing, boating, or camping. Jerome was always the first to set up a bonfire and especially loved gazing up at the stars on a clear night.

It is no surprise that Jerome had many friends who he loved and spoke highly of. While he had a charming knack for spontaneity, his calendar would fill up fast with weekends on the trail, lake or slopes with his dear companions. Jerome loved and appreciated his family more than words can describe. The fifth of seven siblings, he delighted in any excuse to get everyone together, especially after the passing of his father. Jerome was a caring brother, affectionate son, grandson, and nephew, and playful, doting uncle. He is survived by siblings: Mária (Max) Robbins, Monica (Philip) Willis, Joseph (Kendra) Schreiner, Angela (Bradley) Wagaman, Alice Schreiner, and Clare Schreiner. He is also survived by his adoring nieces and nephews: Killian Robbins, Magdalena Robbins, Eilis Robbins, Molly Willis, William Willis, and Kolbe Blaise Robbins, along with grandparents, Mary (Roltgen) Palof and Joseph Palof, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom were loved and cherished by Jerome during his life.

Jerome will be missed beyond words, but we trust in God’s plan, purpose, and promise of eternal life.

On behalf of Jerome and his benevolent heart, our family invites you to celebrate his short yet immensely impactful life at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Road B, Eden, WI on Thursday, August 10th. His wake will be held from 9:00 am – 11:30 am. Rosary will begin at 11:40 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Jerome will be laid to rest next to his father at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery with a luncheon to follow.
