Joan M. Petersen

Joan M. Petersen (nee Ketter), 87, of Campbellsport, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 16, 2021. She was born on May 4, 1934, the only daughter of Henry and Elsie Ketter (nee Bartelt) and was raised with seven brothers. Joan worked as a homemaker for many years until her children grew up and then worked at the convent in Campbellsport for 34 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Dorcas Society and also attended bible study. Joan enjoyed bird watching, gardening, baking, and spending time with family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children, Barb (Rick) Heisler, Jim (Lois) Petersen, Joe (Linda) Petersen, Bev (Randy) Kreif all of Campbellsport, and Bonnie (Russ) Niemuth of Kewaskum; grandchildren, Hollie (special friend John), Josh (Heather), Nate (Sarah), Jamie (special friend Brent), Mandy (Ben), Monica (Eric), Ashley (Fiancé Jeremy), Erin (Mike), Adam (Lindsey), Kevin (special friend Katie), Matt (Steph), Andy (Kate), Kelli (Damien), Katie (Jeremy), and Emmy (special friend Nic); 26 great grandchildren; brother, Duane (Peggy) Ketter of Mayville; and sisters-in-law, Rose Ketter, Alice Ketter, and Georgia Petersen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, faithful friends, and caring neighbors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Maddison; brothers, Erwin, Elwyn (Cecelia), Elton, Wally, Loren, and Henry Jr., and brother-in-law, Duane Petersen.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 5:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 350 S Helena St Campbellsport, WI. 53010. Rev. Paul Cerny will officiate and burial will immediately follow at Union Cemetery in Campbellsport. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 pm until the time of the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Joan’s family would like to thank the Campbellsport Rescue Squad, nurses at St. Agnes Hospital, Hospice Hope, and Rev. Cerny for their care and compassion.
