JoAnn Clarisa Mischo

JoAnn Clarisa Mischo passed to eternal life in the early morning on February 12, 2024, at the age of 67. She lived a life full of family, faith, and friends. Her cherished pastimes included spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends, baking her delicious cookies and being with her true love, David. To know JoAnn was to love JoAnn. She wrote of her life in her own words.

Well, my journey on earth has ended. I never believed it would go so fast. However, my ride has been a wonderful and a meaningful daily gift for many years. I was born to Harvey and Angeline (Heimann) Mathes on July 26, 1956, in the back seat of the family car. They gave me unending love, my German heritage, and a belief in the importance of family. For loving parents on this earth, I thank you Lord and prayed that I could pass that love along.

My journey led me to be joined in marriage to the love of my life, David Mischo on August 21, 1982. That allowed me to receive the gift of two beautiful sons, Nicholas (Stephanie) and Jeffrey (Erika). With their wives came the delight of grandchildren: Magdalena, Charlotte & Evelynn. Being a wife, a mom and then a grandma was my dream and what a wonderful time I had.

I have been blessed with so many friends which I always considered a gift.

The surviving siblings are Harvey (Sally), Dorothy (Dave), Bill (Nancy), Helen, Ed (Judy), Bernice (Gilbert), Mel (Judy), Don (Maribeth), Erv (Paula). One sister-in-law Judy Mathes, and in-laws; Jim (Diana) Mischo, Tom (Ruth) Mischo, Kathy (Ed) Braun, Chris Mischo, John (Theresa) Turner. Numerous nieces and nephews, especially godchildren Tammy & Chad.

Those that have gone before me are my wonderful parents, parents-in-law, Frederick & Elizabeth Mischo, brothers Jerry & Tony Mathes, and brothers-in-law, Robert & Mike Mischo.

JoAnn’s family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 19th from 9:00am to 11:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 4th Street Way in Fond du Lac. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00am following the visitation. Family is asking for those in attendance to consider wearing blue, JoAnn’s favorite color at the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in JoAnn’s honor to the WI ALS society at www.als.org/wisconsin.
